ARMED police and dog units are on the scene of an ongoing incident in Hove.
Emergency vehicles have filled New Church Road and Mornington Crescent with a large number of officers stationed in the area.
Police arrived at the scene at about 6.30pm.
A witness told The Argus they had seen officers "talking to a man in a tracksuit" while further units continued to arrive in the area.
Among them, armed officers and a dog unit have been seen.
At 7.20pm, a Sussex Police spokeswoman told The Argus: "This is an ongoing incident which we are currently dealing with."
It is understood further information on this incident may be released later this evening.
