PARTY time 1920s style was quite a sedate affair, judging from this great picture of a get-together in Brighton in around 1929.
Note how the ladies all kept their hats on. There was no central heating then, of course, so it was probably pretty chilly.
Two other special events feature in our old pictures today – Remembrance Day and the Old Crocks run.
And how different they were in the late 1920s.
Crowds of thousands attended the war memorial in Hove to remember the fallen of the Great War– nearly everyone would have suffered personal tragedy.
The Old Crocks taking part in the annual London to Brighton run make a great sight.
If you look closely you can see a roof sign for Brighton brewery Tamplins – this was on the Black Lion pub.
There's another familiar sign in final image today - the one above the Hare and Hounds pub at Preston Circus, which looks just like it does now.
These wonderful old pictures have been colourised at www.spcolourcollection.com.
