THERE are delays to trains running between Hove and Worthing following reports of a vulnerable person on the railway line.
No trains were able to run between the two stations as emergency services attended the scene in Portslade shortly before 7am.
All lines reopened shortly after 7am, but delays are continuing this morning as a result of the disruption caused.
A Southern Rail spokesman said: "Just after 6.30am, a trespasser was reported on the track at Portslade.
"Station staff have now escorted them from the line and emergency services are assisting them. Trains were able to resume at about 7am.
"All lines have reopened between Hove and Worthing, and we are doing everything we can to resume a good service.
"Some trains in the area may still be delayed by up to 25 minutes. Late-running trains may also be revised - calling at different stations en route or terminating before they complete their full journeys.
"Please check your train before you go to the station, leave extra time and listen to announcements when travelling."
Update: 7.54am
A Southern Rail spokesman said: "Services have now returned to normal between Hove and Worthing."
