A TOTAL of ten people have died from coronavirus in the latest 24-hour period, official figures reveal.
NHS England figures show 367 people had died in hospital at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust as of 5pm on Wednesday.
That was an increase of ten compared to Tuesday when there were 357.
It means there have been 44 deaths in the past week, up from 41 the previous week.
The victims were among 9,154 deaths recorded across the South East.
In East Sussex, nine new coronavirus deaths have been recorded.
NHS England figures show 524 people had died in hospital at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust as of 5pm on Wednesday.

The number of recorded coronavirus cases in the area also increased by 244 in the last 24 hours.
Figures show that 27,489 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Thursday - up from 27,245 the same time on Wednesday.
At the Western Sussex Hospitals Trust, a dozen new coronavirus deaths have been recorded.
The number of recorded coronavirus cases in the area also increased by 404.
The rate of infection in West Sussex now stands at 4,089 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the England average of 5,817.
Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 28,680 over the period, to 3,743,734.
