A MULTIAGENCY emergency has taken place in response to an incident on the A23.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to attend a patient who had become "unwell" on the layby of the A23, northbound near Pycombe, at 4:12 pm.
Joint Fire Control mobilised a crew from Burgess Hill Fire Station, who were joined by Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service.
A spokesman from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called by Sussex Police to reports of a patient who had become unwell in the layby of the A23 northbound near Pycombe at 4.12pm this afternoon.

“Joint Fire Control mobilised a crew from Burgess Hill Fire Station and the Heavy Rescue Tender from Worthing to the scene.
"Once on scene firefighters assisted police and paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service, before booking away from the scene at 4.43pm.”
