PEOPLE have been warned to be on the lookout for scam emails claiming they have missed a DPD delivery.
The email asks you to enter your bank account details to pay for redelivery.
The Argus was told about the fake emails, which have been received by people in Sussex.
Brighton and Hove City Council said it was aware of the scammers and called on people to be alert and vigilant during what is a “vulnerable time for the public".
A spokesman said: “Online sales have boomed due to the pandemic, and fraudsters are using the branding of delivery companies in their campaigns to steal money in emails and text messages to random people.

"Because of the sharp rise in online sales, many more people are expecting deliveries, making this scam even more dangerous.”
The council said it is also concerned about different versions of the scam, with fraudsters using other delivery company logos including Royal Mail and Hermes.
Anyone who believes they have been targeted by a scam is advised to aware and report it to Action Fraud, contact the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) by emailing: report@phishing.gov.uk or call the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 0808 223 1133.
