ROSIE the Patterdale Terrier had a lucky escape after getting stuck in a six-foot deep hole.
It took three firefighters from East Sussex Fire and Rescue to free the 14-year-old pooch on Saturday morning.
Crew from the Green Watch team used a specialist snake eye camera to locate Rosie before trying to dig her out of the hole on Hereward Way in Lewes.
But it was not until she was presented with her favourite treats that she was finally coaxed out of the hole.
A spokesman from East Sussex Fire and Rescue said: “Rosie’s owner was overjoyed to get his faithful companion back safe and sound.
“Rosie returned home for some cuddles and her favourite tea, chicken.”
