A SEPTIC tank crashed head-on with a van and a car after coming loose from a 4x4.

Police are investigating the crash which happened on the A283 Steyning at about 8am this morning.

Officers were called to the scene after the tank came loose from the trailer as it was being pulled westbound on the road.

The cylinder container is reported to have collided with a van and a car heading in the other direction.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “The driver of the car sustained minor injuries.

“A section of the A283 was blocked while emergency services where on scene, then reopened at 9.20am.”
