MORE than 800 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Sussex.
The latest figures show 812 people had tested positive across the county by 9am yesterday.
In Brighton and Hove, 99 new cases were recorded. It brings the total number of recorded cases in the city to 11,940, since the pandemic began.
In East Sussex, 287 new cases were recorded over the period. It means 25,235 have now tested positive for the virus in the county.
There were 426 more cases reported in West Sussex, where the total number now stands at 32,051, since Covid-19 hit.
Across the UK, 38,905 new cases were confirmed, bringing the total figure to 3,505,754.
Sussex hospitals recorded 63 more coronavirus deaths during the latest 24-hour reporting period.
NHS England figures show ten more people had died in hospitals run by Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust as of 5pm on Tuesday.
It brings the total number of deaths at the trust to 316.
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust recorded 23 more fatalities over the period, bringing its total to 436.
There were 27 more deaths reported by Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust , where 289 people have now lost their lives to the virus.
Across the UK, 1,820 more fatalities were recorded. The national death toll now stands at 93,290.
