RESIDENTS took the chance to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine on the seafront yesterday.

The sun appeared and saw thousands strolling as they enjoyed a break from the wet weather. Today is expected to be largely fine, with some sunny spells. Cloud will gradually thicken from the west however, with an increasing risk of rain in the west by the afternoon, spreading east later. Maximum temperature is expected to be 9 °C.

It will often be wet on Tuesday and Wednesday, with outbreaks of rain.

Forecasters from the Met Office said there will be some drier intervals and it will be feeling mild. It will perhaps be drier but also much windier on Thursday, with coastal gales.

Under current restrictions residents are allowed out to exercise once a day.

You must not leave, or be outside of your home except where necessary. You may leave the home to:

Shop for essentials, for you or for a vulnerable or self-isolating person

Go to work, or provide voluntary or charitable services, if you cannot do this from home

Exercise once a day with your household or support bubble (or with one other person, with social distancing)

Meet your support or childcare bubble where necessary

Seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm (including domestic abuse)

Attend education or childcare - for those eligible
