A MAN accused of attempted murder at a hospital will now face trial.
Connolly Mellon, 30, is accused of stabbing George Joseph, 56, at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
Armed police swooped in over the incident in July last year.
The hospital was put into lockdown for several hours while each room was individually searched and cleared.
Teams of officers with guns were stationed around the perimeter of the site.
Mellon denies attempted murder, and a pre trial hearing was due to take place at Hove Crown Court on January 11. The 30-year-old, formerly of Wilson Avenue, Brighton, will stand trial on the week beginning March 15.
