READERS have have had mixed reactions after video streaming service Netflix have announced a price hike.

Starting in February, subscribers face a price increase of up to £2 per month as the streaming giant started informing customers of the new subscription fees from this week.

Mark Snelling said: "I'm sure all the TV providers are financially up due to the multiple lockdowns. To increase prices now is just showing there greed. Wont take long for the rest to follow either."

Hannah Jones said: "Its £2, people can't expect prices to stay low forever, it is still incredible value for money." Gerry Matthews said: "Give us more choice of A-List films then."

Fran Langston said: "Still better than a TV licence."

Jack Spencer said: "Bye bye Netflix hello Amazon Prime."

Chelsey Danielle Bond said: "What so now even the £9.99 is gonna go up to what now?!

"Considering the £9.99 is taxed as well by £2.00 putting it up to £11.99 so if they are putting that one up as well then I would be finding somewhere else either cheaper or free they’ll lose customers by putting that price up."

Nancy Smith said: "Netflix need to do better as what is on at the minute is rubbish I don't want to watch films that have been on TV or was made 10 years ago."

Sarah Callaway said: "Amazon Prime is more expensive unless you have a free trial and switch every month? Not worth the £7.99 a month compared to £5.99 for Netflix, which lets face it, if you divided the cost between everyone using your account would be 0.001p."

Andy Blythe said: "None of the programmes seem to make sense plus majority of them are dubbed think I'll stick to Youtube."

Charlotte Georgina Macdonald said: "Why put the price up when 80 per cent of the films on there are not English or dubbed."

Chris Edwards said: "If in the UK and you have Sky ask them. We get our Netflix free through Sky Q."
