FATBOY Slim has swapped making mixtapes for making coffee at the Big Beach Café in Hove and Argus readers have been sharing their stories of being served by the famous DJ.
The star, whose real name is Norman Cook, has owned the Big Beach Café at Hove Lagoon for seven years – and coronavirus has provided him with the opportunity to become more hands on.
He told Phil Reynolds, host of the Celebs and The Average Joe Podcast, that he started waiting tables at the café after his live events were cancelled.
We asked Argus readers if they had managed to catch a glimpse of Fatboy working at the café.
Sam Brown said the Praise You star was the “most famous person to ever serve me coffee.”
He said: “We saw him working on Sunday, served us our coffee, he was chatting away with customers and wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
“What a genuinely lovely guy!”

Portslade resident Shelia Warner said that when she went to the café, the DJ was joking about forgetting his glasses.
She said: “He served us hot chocolate on Sunday. He couldn’t read the order number without his glasses.
“He was really friendly.”
While Annie Russel, said Fatboy had even spent Christmas Day working.
Human customers were not the only ones to be left starstruck by the superstar.
Barby De La Fuente-Ford, who lives in Brighton, said: “He gave my dog two sausages last weekend.
“My doggy was so pleased - he is his number one fan now.”
While the café is now closed to inhouse customers in line with national coronavirus restrictions, it is still opening for takeaway orders.
This means there is still a chance to spot Fatboy rustling up a bacon sandwich or handing out cups of tea.
