A VIDEO shows the moment traffic came to a standstill near a McDonald’s Drive-Thru under fire for causing “gridlock”.
The clip, taken at 1pm yesterday, shows a lengthy queue near the outlet’s Shoreham restaurant in Eastern Avenue.
In the video, cars can be seen queuing along Eastern Avenue until its junction with the A259 Brighton Road.
The chain’s popular Drive-Thru option can be found just meters away from a level crossing.

McDonald’s has been under fire from motorists complaining of extended delays caused by the combination of the level crossing and the Drive-Thru.
Residents say they have been left having to avoid the area at peak times to avoid the scores of drivers lining up to enter the outlet.
Amid the lengthy queues yesterday, Brighton and Hove Bus Company warned its 2 service was being diverted via Gordon Road due to “significant congestion”.
⚠️With apologies, due to significant congestion, our #BH2 service going into Shoreham is diverting via Gordon Road, normal route out of Shoreham ⚠️

A spokesman for McDonald’s said they are aware of the queues which, they say, are being caused by additional measures to keep customers safe.
The statement came after more than 200 people signed a petition calling on the outlet to close.
