TWO bicycle shops were targeted by thieves as expensive bikes were stolen.
Police believe the raids on Evolution Cycles in Eastbourne and the Cycle Tec shop in Pevensey may be linked.
Officers were first called at 1am on December 13 about a burglary at Evolution in Meads Street. The store’s front window was smashed in and an Evil Wreckoning full-suspension mountain bike was taken.
After the site was made safe, it was targeted again at 11.30pm the following night, also December 13. A Santa Cruz Heckler electric cycle was stolen.
A white van was seen in the area.
Then at in the early hours of December 15 thieves targeted Cycle Tech in Wallsend Road, Pevensey.
A Raleigh Motor Grand Tour low step bicycle and a Mondraker Dusk RR 29er electric mountain bike were stolen, along with computers and cash.
Anyone with information should report it to Sussex Police online or call 101 and quote reference 1210 of 13/12 for the Evolution Cycles incidents or 121 of 15/12 for the Cycle Tech incident.
Each burglary is being probed, and police believe the raids could be linked.
