A MAIN road is closed both ways this morning due to a crash.
An air ambulance is on the scene at the A259 Bishopstone crash, near Seaford, which happened at about 7.20am this morning.
Witnesses report that a person has been cut out of a car before being put on a stretcher.
Both the east and westbound routes are closed.
Brighton and Hove Buses are being diverted from Denton corner via A26 and A27 in both directions.
Video of the helicopter landing was taken by Andy Scotcher from Bishopstone, who was first on the scene as a trained first aider.
A shuttle bus is in operation between Denton corner and Seaford.
At 8.20am, a spokesman for the AA said: “The road blocked and there is queueing traffic due to accident on A259 Buckle By-Pass both ways at Marine Parade.
“There is congestion to Seaford heading westbound and back to Newhaven heading eastbound.
“Travel time is around 20 minute and a detour in operation, which is affecting Brighton and Hove Buses.”
