FIREFIGHTERS were called to a late-night train fire.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue worked to put out flames which had broken out on a train shortly before midnight last night at West Worthing station.
Crews worked to keep the fire on the eastbound platform under control as Southern Rail announced all lines between Worthing and Littlehampton were blocked.
Firefighters dealt with the incident quickly and a spokesman for Southern Rail declared the incident over at 12.41pm this morning.
A spokesman said: "The disruption due to an incident requiring the emergency services between Worthing and Littlehampton has now ended.
"Services are no longer affected by this problem."
