A FOUL-MOUTHED Disney poster has been removed from a shop's window after complaints.

The poster of Mickey Mouse with the words 'everything is f***ed' had been displayed in the window of They Made This in Dukes Lane, Brighton.

The expletive design of the children's character prompted anger as The Lanes shop is just one street away from Middle Street Primary School.

One angry resident, who asked not to be named, said: "I went into the shop today just to query this as I find it offensive being so close to the school, whilst the shop keeper agreed they would talk to the owner, my feelings were pretty much dismissed.

"I like most the designs in their shop and whilst their statement may be on point, however being opposite a primary school with this poster that you can't really miss, I find it slightly inappropriate."

The poster shows a smiley Micky Mouse proudly displaying the 'Everything's F***ed' design above his head.

The print is by Ian Stevenson

The furious resident said the shop's workers told her that parents had been "buying it for their children", however this is strongly denied by They Made This management.

A spokeswoman for the company said many customers loved the design, but they have now decided removed it due to the shop's proximity with the school.

Yesterday, the spokeswoman said: "One of my team did get in contact with me on Tuesday, before the end of the day, and explained a customer had come into our Brighton Store and voiced concerns about one of our popular Ian Stevenson prints that is currently on display in the shop window.

"We discussed the issue this morning in our online daily staff meeting and have taken the decision to move that print to a more discreet part of the shop, where it is not visible from the windows for any school children.

"My team have had plenty of customers - many who are parents and indeed also grandparents - who have loved and purchased this print, however I also understand this print is not to everyone’s taste and also understand it is not appropriate for it to be so visible with a school so nearby.

"It should be moved to a less visible area of the shop, which we have now done."

They Made this is a Graphic Art Print Shop in 15/ 16 Dukes Lane, Brighton.
