KATIE Price visited her sick mum on her birthday after testing negative for Covid-19.

The former glamour model’s mum, Amy Price, suffers from the incurable lung disease, idiophatic pulmonary fibrosis meaning she has been shielding amid the pandemic.

Katie, who grew up in Patcham, took a Covid-19 test to ensure she was safe to visit her vulnerable mother, as they celebrated her birthday on Saturday.

She shared a photo of her and her sister Sophie visiting their mother on her birthday, with the caption: “Woo passed COVID test has made me able to spend the day with the best mum anybody could wish for. Happy birthday mum.”

The 42-year-old also revealed she had given her mum a copy of Piers Morgan’s new book, Wake Up.

Piers, who is from Newick, replied: “Fabulous! Hope you enjoy it.”

Amy, 64, was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2017 and was given just two to three years to live.

The illness causes scarring on the lungs which makes it hard to breathe. There is currently no cure for the disease.

Appearing on Loose Women last year, Katie reflected on her mother’s diagnosis.

She said: “I couldn’t cope and when you hear ‘terminal’ you think she’s not got long left”

In the same interview Amy revealed that she had met with a doctor to discuss the possibility of lung transplant.

“They keep an eye on me, my lung function tests have dropped a little bit, but that’s expected with what I have got because it is a progressive illness,” Amy said.

“But they do all the tests on the other organs in your body to prepare you for when they think you need a transplant.”

Katie recently revealed that she will not be returning to her ‘mucky mansion’ near Horsham on orders of her doctor.

The former reality-television star said doctors at The Priory rehabilitation centre, where she was admitted in January, told her to never return to the £2 million property because there’s “too many memories.”

The mother-of-five has now moved in with her partner, former Love Island contestant, Carl Woods in Essex.

The house has a swimming pool, a horse stables and tennis courts.
