OVER 140 arts and cultural organisations will benefit from a £25 million boost from the government, to help the sector recover from coronavirus.
The first round of funding awarded through the culture recovery fund, aimed to save the sector from the impact of the pandemic, was released yesterday.
In the South East, a total of £25,191,849 was handed out to save 146 theatres, venues and organisations.

It's a fraction of the £257m awarded across the country yesterday.
Brighton and Hove Pride was one of the organisations that benefited, as it awarded £643,100 as part of the government's culture recovery fund.
The three-day festival was due to take place on August 1 and August 2 but was called off due to the pandemic.
Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival, along with its music services, have been given a total of £841,000 to help recover from the impact of the virus.
