INCREDIBLE images show pier and i360 lit up in red for the events industry.
These photographs show landmarks around Brighton lit up red as part of a campaign to raise awareness for the events industry as it struggles with the impact of coronavirus.
Brighton’s seafront was aglow as buildings including Brighton Palace Pier and the British Airways i360 were illuminated as part of a global day of action.
The city’s venues were forced to close their doors in March, putting them under huge financial pressure.
A crowd of more than 300 people involved in the events industry, many of who have been out of work, arrived for the spectacle and to show solidarity with the cause.
A three-minute silence was held and protestors beamed out red lights from their phone.
The #WeMakeEvents and #LightInRed campaign claim the live events sector needs more government support of it is to survive the Covid-19 crisis.
A spokesman from the campaign said: “Without major immediate additional support from national governments, the entire supply chain is at risk of collapse.
“Whilst there has been a lot of support for our industry, it has not been made available to everyone and we are working hard to raise awareness of this with both the government and the public."
