THE lives of three women were saved by the Brighton Beach Patrol.
While patrolling the seafront on Saturday night, two girls were spotted “very distressed” on the west side of Brighton Palace Pier at 10.05pm.
They were looking for a friend who they believed had entered the water.
Beach patroller Chloe Cressey called Brighton Lifeboats and Shoreham Coastguard to help find the missing girl.
When the two “distressed” girls attempted to enter the sea themselves, they were taken to safety by Ms Cressey.
The missing girl was later found after a search from Shoreham Coastguard and all three were taken safely into aftercare.
Speaking on behalf of Brighton Beach Patrol, Ms Cressey said: “We would like to say thank you to Shoreham Coastguard, Brighton Lifeboats and Sussex Police for their quick response. “
The Brighton Beach Patrol is a charity organisation which relies on donations.
