Katie Price says her Sussex mansion is 'cursed' after fire

The fire service was alerted to the blaze in the grounds of her £1.3 million property in Horsham.

The former glamour model was not at the mansion at the time, having previously vowed to never live there again. 

A source told The Sun: "Katie was horrified when she was called about the fire - apparently the caretaker built a huge fire right next to the house, and when it went up the side of the house was covered in flames.

"It was a huge fire - a neighbour called the fire brigade thinking the house was burning down. It was put out in the end but you could see the smoke billowing across the road. She says the house is cursed."

The fire is reported to have been brought under control before any damage was done to the main building.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said they had been alerted to the incident, which turned out to be a large bonfire.

A spokesman said: "We received a call at 8.07pm on Monday to reports of a fire at Worthing Road, Dial Post.

"The fire was a controlled burn and so further action was necessary from the fire service.”

It comes after a number of incidents at the property.

Katie Price has been beset with misfortune since buying the property, including another fire in 2018.

At the time, a source told The Sun that the fire had been caused by some scented candles.

Earlier this year, intruders broke into the house, just weeks after Katie Price had revealed her plans to sell her so-called “mucky mansion”.

The 42-year-old had been having the property renovated when crooks trashed the site and left debris across the floor, while the ceiling of one of the ground floor rooms collapsed.

The mother of five was said to be "devastated" after the break-in and took advice to ramp up security and build an "impenetrable safe room" in the mansion.
