A PEDESTRIAN has died after being hit by a car in a village.
Police and paramedics were called to the incident at Broad Oak near Heathfield in the early hours of this morning.
The incident was reported on the A265 and involved a black Ford Fiesta.
A 22-year-old man from the area was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver, a 21-year-old man from Etchingham, was unhurt.
Officers are investigating the incident, and have urged anyone who may have seen the young man walking along the road towards Burwash Common from 1am onwards to come forward.
