FIFTEEN new coronavirus cases were reported in Sussex in the latest 24-hour period.
Nine tested positive in West Sussex, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 2,993.
Another five cases were reported in East Sussex, bringing the total to 1,781.
In Brighton and Hove one person tested positive for the virus yesterday. The total number of cases in the city is now 891.
No new deaths were recorded at any hospitals in the county yesterday.
Ten deaths were recorded across the UK yesterday, bringing the coronavirus death toll to 41,537.
Another 1,940 new cases were reported yesterday. The national total is now 342,351.
The Sussex totals increased for the first time in almost a month on Tuesday, when two further coronavirus deaths were reported – one at the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, which has recorded 149 deaths, and one at the Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where the total is 114.
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust has recorded 100 deaths so far in the pandemic.
Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust has reported 260 since the epidemic began.
And there have been 18 deaths at the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust.
The total number of deaths recorded across Sussex hospitals is 641.
