THE summer holidays are fast approaching and for many of us this year will be a little bit different. 

Having been entertaining your children throughout lockdown, the thought of what to do now school’s out can seem quite daunting.

But don’t worry, we’ve come up with a list of the best attraction under a tenner to get you out of the house and having some fun: 

Fishers Farm Park, West Sussex

Opening Times: 10:00 - 17:00 daily

Price: Day ticket £12.75, under 2’s free.

The Fishers Farm Park has fun for all the family with animals and keeper demonstrations, huge play and adventure areas, assault course, safari and the splash attack water zone. 

There are daily events to join in with including sheep racing and hopping for a ride on the ghost tunnel.

1066 Battle of Hastings, Abbey and Battlefield, Battle

Opening Times: 10:00 - 17:00 daily

Price: Adult £13.60, child £8.20

Explore one of the most significant battlegrounds in Britain this summer and let your imagination run wild as you roam the battlefields and abbey ruins. 

Run by the English Heritage trust, the battleground has a summer adventure quest for children throughout summer from July 18 to August 30. 

The cafe and souvenir shop is also open to grab a snack or souvenir.

Go Ape, Crawley

Opening Times: 09:00 - 18:00 daily

Price: starting at £25 

Adventurous family days out are what Go Ape is all about, at the Crawley site you can have a go at their Treetop Adventure, Treetop Challenge or Forset Segway. 

If adrenaline isn't your thing, there are plenty of walks and natural sites to see around the park. 

Go Ape is set within Tilgate Park which contains a lake, extensive woodlands, multiple activities and a themed restaurant.

Sea Life, Brighton

Opening Times: 10:00 - 16:00 daily (last admission 15:00) 

Price: £16.40 standard ticket, online. 

The magical underwater kingdom of Sea Life is back open to explorers but pre-booking is essential. 

Some of the aquatic awes below the surface include sting rays, jellyfish, sharks and octopus. 

Covid-19 measures in place will include ensuring members of the public follow social distancing protocol and bring and wear appropriate face mask / covering.

Amberley Museum, Arundel

Opening Times: 10:00 - 16:00 Wednesday to Sunday

Step back in time with a day trip to Amberley Museum as you explore the history of working Britain. 

From transportation to industry, craft and communications Amberley Museum is described as haing something for everyone, including nature trails around the South Downs.
