KATIE Price's Sussex mansion has been 'destroyed by intruders'.

Sources close to the former glamour model told a national newspaper she is 'devastated' by the incident.

Pictures of the aftermath of the break-in showed that a ground floor room had been flooded and part of the ceiling had collapsed, while the mum-of-five's belongings were left strewn across the floor.

A Sussex Police spokesman told The Argus: "On Monday morning, police received a report that sometime since the previous day a residential address had been entered by a person or persons unknown.

"The property was not occupied at the time.

"It was not possible to establish whether anything had been stolen.

The Argus:

"Anyone with information can contact Sussex Police online at https://www.sussex.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us/ or by calling 101, quoting serial 403 of 06/07."

The break-in comes in the midst of attempts by the 42-year-old to sell her £1.3 million Horsham estate.

The former glamour model, who was once worth more than £40 million, was forced to give up the 11-bedroom mansion earlier this year after signing the property over to a trustee.

She was made bankrupt last November after the High Court found she had failed to stick to a plan to repay her debts, estimated to be £800,000.

As a result, she has been living with a friend elsewhere and has vowed to clear out the Sussex property and never live there again.

The Argus:

In a video on her YouTube channel, she revisited the site and gave fans a tour.

Katie said: "I absolutely hate this house so I can’t be here long…

"They call this the so-called mucky mansion, no it’s called the Pricey Mansion. Priceywood, actually."
