A LARGE seal did not seem to mind the recent drop in temperature as it lounged on the beach this morning.
The animal was spotted lying on the pebbles at the Rottingdean undercliff.
Some of those who spotted it were concerned the seal may have been injured and rescue services were called.
But one witness, Shane Cooke, later filmed the creature stretching in the sun and said it “seemed alive and well”.
Unfortunately, other animals to have washed up on Brighton beaches in the past week have been less fortunate.
On Saturday an adult harbour porpoise was found dead between Brighton Marina and Rottingdean, and a second porpoise was discovered east of the Palace Pier at 7pm yesterday.
It had a series of visible cuts along its body.
