A MAN appeared in court over claims he licked products then put them back on the shelves.
Police were called to the BP garage in Lewes Road, Brighton on Saturday night.
It is alleged that Simon Plante licked items on the shelves there.
The unemployed 42-year-old appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court accused of criminal damage, possession of a sharp pointed article in a public place, and using threatening of abusive behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Plante, of Oriental Place, Brighton, will next appear before a crown court in May.
