PARENTS have reported students are in self-isolation following a college's trip to Italy.
A mother contacted The Argus to say she had received an email from Hurstpierpoint College yesterday, in which parents were informed students and staff are in self-isolation following an organised trip to northern Italy.
She said: "We were told in an email that students who had been on the trip have been put into self-isolation, as well as staff.
"It also said two pupils were sent home from college yesterday with flu-like symptoms."
Headmaster Tim Manly said in a statement: "It is the policy of the College and its staff, unless the family agree otherwise, not to respond to enquiries about personal and sensitive issues relating to pupils or their families.
"The privacy and well-being of our pupils and their families is a primary concern for the College."
Meanwhile, East Sussex College in Lewes confirmed today they have postponed a trip to Lombardy which was due to take place next week, as a precautionary measure.
