PARK toilets are to become "gender-neutral".
The new design in Dyke Road Park, Hove, will see the current females toilets converted into three "gender-neutral" cubicles alongside the wheelchair accessible toilet.
Those looking to use a female toilet will have to walk to the Booth Museum across the road for the next four weeks.
The male toilets will remain open until the new facilities are complete. They will then be converted into extra space for the cafe.
Work begins on Monday and the new facilities are set to open for the spring.
A Brighton and Hove City Council spokesman said: "Access to the new toilets for all users of the park will be through the café.
"As well as providing an accessible toilet, we will be upgrading the current facilities, which are very much in need of updating.
"The refurbishment will also help reduce the increasing amount of misuse and vandalism in the facilities."
