ALBION has said its newly approved 600-home project will create hundreds of new jobs.

A Brighton and Hove Albion spokesman said the New Monks Farm development in Lancing will safeguard the future of Shoreham Airport”and grow the area’s economy.

The project will also include an Ikea, a primary school and a new A27 roundabout to serve the airport.

The Albion spokesman said the club would “minimise the inconvenience caused” to Lancing residents.

“Our task now is to deliver an exciting high quality development that will represent the largest investment in any site in the Adur district for many years,” he said.

“Our message to local residents is that we will do our utmost to minimise the inconvenience caused while the works are under way”.
