FED-UP councillors threw a birthday celebration for a pothole which has been left unfilled for two years.
Worthing borough councillors Martin McCabe and Bob Smytherman held a bash complete with cake and candles for the Palatine Road pothole.
Cllr McCabe said residents were sick of the pothole wreaking havoc on their tyres.
“It’s been reported many times, including by me,” he said.
“The repairs keep failing.
“So we’ve thrown the pothole a birthday party to highlight the problem out of sheer desperation.
“We’re urging West Sussex County Council to get a grip and fix our roads.”
The county council repaired the hole on December 30.
