EMOTIONAL tributes have been left to a young man at the scene of an alleged murder.
Suel Delgado was critically injured after being struck by a car in a suspected hit and run in Marine Parade on Sunday.
The 20-year-old later died from his injuries, while two other young men remain in hospital in a serious condition.
Friends and loved ones told Suel to “keep shining” and said they would keep him in their hearts.
The tributes were left after the police cordon on the A259 was lifted.
Marine Parade was closed by police for three days while officers conducted a “fingertip” search for evidence in the murder inquiry.
Suel attended the Thomas Bennett Community College in Crawley, and played for football teams in Sussex who described their shock at the news.
Meanwhile flowers, messages, candles and photographs have been put outside The Amsterdam Hotel on the seafront, near where he was struck.
Tributes included a Liverpool soccer shirt, as well as pictures with his friends and girlfriend.
One message on flowers from Rhi Rhi described an 11-year friendship.
The message said: “To my best friend and brother, thank you for the amazing and beautiful memories. Shine bright baby, keep shining.
“I will never forget you, I love you forever and always.”
One friend who described Suel as their left and their right hand said: “Word’s can’t even describe how much you will be missed.”
Meanwhile friends Faye, Adrian, Tayah and Isla wrote: “My lovely Suel. RIP beautiful. Things will never be the same. You really were too good for this earth. Love you.”
Earlier, friends expressed their shock on Facebook.
Jorge Perreira Pinto wrote: “I still can’t believe it, because my God, I saw you grow, I saw you pass from boy to man, you were like a son.
“You still had a lot of life ahead, so much to live, I’m speechless, today heaven has gained another star.”
Suel played football for Loxwood, and the club said: “We will miss everything about you: Your cheeky smile, energy and jokes. Such a lovely lad to have around the club.”
Police launched Operation Danebridge and said they were called to the scene shortly after 5am on Sunday.
There were reports of a large fight between two groups. A BMW X6 was later found abandoned in nearby Middle Street, Brighton.
A 32-year-old man was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and was released under investigation on Tuesday.
A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Monday, and re-arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday. He too has now been released under investigation. Finally a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday.
