THE A259 is still closed after a serious incident this morning.
Police say the road is likely to remain shut for several more hours.
The road is closed from the pier roundabout to Camelford Street.
There is no access from Marine Parade into Manchester Street, Charles Street, Broad Street, Madeira Place or Camelford Street.
Access to these streets is from St James' Street only.

Travelling into Brighton from the east, traffic is being diverted up Rock Gardens and along Edward Street.
Southbound traffic coming into Brighton from theA23 at the Old Steine is being forced to turn around at the Sealife Centre.
Middle Street is also closed both ways to traffic after a car believed to have been involved was found abandonned.
The navy blue BMW was found with a smashed rear windscreen in Middle Street, after three men were mown down at about 5.20am.
Two of the men suffered serious head injuries.
A third was also taken the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
