A JURY found a man not guilty of being the driver of a car which injured a pedestrian in a crash.
Emmanuel Mikhail, 32, of Laburnum Avenue, Hove, was accused of causing serious injury by dangerous driving in a Maserati.
The incident happened in Western Road, Hove, in March last year. A woman was hit outside Fox and Sons estate agents. Another person was hurt in the crash.
Mr Mikhail’s trial started at Hove Crown Court last week and was expected to last for ten days but he was acquitted a day later. Police made a new arrest the day the trial ended.
Officers said a 29-year-old man from Brighton, was held on suspicion of conspiring to pervert the course of justice and with aiding or abetting the causing of a serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
