A COUNCIL has given its official backing to a controversial bypass scheme.
The “magenta” option for the proposed A27 Arundel Bypass, which involves a bridge through Binsted village, has been endorsed by West Sussex County Council.
County council transport chief Roger Elkins said it would reduce congestion.
“It would also provide benefits for the local and regional economy, which is a priority in our West Sussex Plan,” he said.
