THREE restaurants scooped national awards after more than 70,000 people chose their favourite places to grab a bite.
At food delivery company Deliveroo’s first ever restaurant awards, Brighton restaurant The Chilli Pickle won Best Indian, competing against establishments across the country.
City institution Bagelman was named the Best Brunch in the UK.
Meanwhile Smashburger, which has a restaurant in North Street, was named as Britain’s best place to get a burger.
Sanchia Gladwin, from the The Chilli Pickle, said he was “really proud” to have won the award.
“A big thank you to everyone who voted for us,” he said.
A Smashburger spokesman put the company’s award down to teamwork.
“It’s all about the team collaboration that has delivered these outstanding results, enabling us to achieve this award,” he said.
Deliveroo founder Will Shu added: “It is an honour for us to be celebrating Britain’s best loved restaurants.’
“We understand the hard work, dedication, incredible skill and creativity that goes into making a restaurant successful.”
