- Climate change activists are staging a major protest in Brighton today.
- They will take to the city's streets for what they have described as "the biggest climate strike yet".
- A spokesperson for the UK Schools Climate Network (UKSCN) said: "We will express our anger and despair over a lack of any action over climate breakdown.
- "We reject the 'business as usual' approach because we understand the terrifying reality of climate science and we find it horrific that local councils can continue as if nothing is happening."
- The statement further added: "Our politicians will not change by themselves as they continue to make a profit from destroying our futures, our communities' futures and our planet’s future.
- "This is why we are taking back the power, taking to the streets and forcing politicians to do what is right."
- The protesters were due to gather at 11am at Hove Lawns. The protest will end at The Level.
