A THIEF was jailed after admitting stealing prawns, meat, Yankee candles, games, toys, and books from shops.
Samuel Oakford admitted five offences in Worthing.
The 28-year-old stole meat worth £47 from Sainsbury’s in Goring, nine bags of frozen prawns from Iceland in South Street, Worthing worth £40, nine Yankee Candles from Boots in Montague Street worth £289, and items from nearby Waterstones worth £300.
At Crawley Magistrates’ Court it was revealed that Oakford, of Lyndhurst Road, Worthing, is already serving a prison sentence.
Court documents then revealed he committed the last three offences jointly with Kirsten Hocking.
She was jailed for six months.
He was jailed for a further four weeks for the offences, and must pay a £115 surcharge.
Magistrates also made him pay £579 in compensation to the shops.
