TWO people were rescued after a fire broke out in a block of flats.
Emergency services were called after flames swept through the building in Green Lane Close, Arundel, at about 6.45pm yesterday.
An air ambulance was called to assist with the incident along with West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance service.
One passerby said two lives were saved and also pets in the building including a dog and an exotic bird were brought to rescue.
A spokesman from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a fire in two flats on Green Lane Close, Arundel at 6:45pm this evening.
“Three fire engines attended and four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and one jet was used. Two people were rescued from the building.”
