THE Flat Earth Society is to host its second event at The Globe pub.

The group of students from Sussex University, who say they believe the Earth is flat, are meeting for drinks at the pub in Middle Street, Brighton, on September 4.

Many believers, who call themselves Flat Earthers, believe Nasa is a conspiracy, that the sun revolves around the Earth and the planet is surrounded by a giant ice wall which stops the oceans from falling off the sides.

A survey of 18 to 24-year-olds in the US revealed four per cent believed the Earth was flat.

The university’s society is believed to be a parody.
