MISS Brighton and the mayor were guests of honour at a charity event.

Rebecca Kite and Councillor Alex Phillips were amongst those at the Pavilion Gardens’ charity day on Saturday.

Charities and community groups from across the city got to host information stalls to promote their work and raise money.

Rebecca got hands on with Amanda the tawny owl from Owls and About. More than 20 local charities took part in the event, including the Sussex Beacon, Dolphin House Clinic, Team Domenica, North Laine Community Association, Sussex Wildlife Trust and Save Madeira Terraces.

Organiser Mitch Egan said: “It was a free opportunity specifically for Brighton groups and charities to take a stall in the gardens.

The mayor visited every one of the 22 stalls, as did Rebecca.”
