A MUSIC festival has been cancelled after high winds ripped through the main event tent.
The Land Beyond Festival was due to be held at East Brighton Park today.
But the tent suffered “irreparable damage” leaving it unsafe for revellers and the artists on stage.
Organisers issued a message on Facebook today for the sold out event.
They have said they are doing everything possible to make sure Sunday’s performances can go ahead.
In a statement they told fans: “Due to the severe weather conditions and extremely high hinds causing irreparable damage to our big top tent, we have had no option but to cancel today’s event.
“The safety of our customers, staff, and artists has to be prioritised and the event has been deemed unsafe to go ahead today.”
The event was scheduled to start at noon until 10pm, with performances by Joey Negro and Jeremy Underground.
Ticket holders for Saturday can email brightonbeatsfestival@gmail.com to learn about refunds.
