AN AIR ambulance was called after two people collapsed in a graveyard.
Police and ambulance services rushed to St Mary’s Church in Broadwater Street, Worthing.
An air ambulance was also called and landed at the nearby Manor Sports Ground.
A South East Coast Ambulance service spokesman said: “We were called at approximately 2.50pm today to reports that two people had collapsed and were in need of medical attention at Broadwater Parish Church graveyard.
“Ambulance crews attended the scene and two patients were assessed and treated before being taken to Worthing Hospital.
“We were joined at the scene by the air ambulance briefly but it was not required to take the patient’s to hospital.”
A Sussex Police spokesman added that officers had attended the scene but it was a “medical incident”.
Witnesses said congestion built up in the area as emergency service vehicles attended the scene.
