On this day 20 years ago The Argus went to meet the die-hard Status Quo fans who queued for hours to meet their heroes at a special signing session at HMV Brighton before playing an intimate gig at a pub in Hove. We also went to check out some budding rugby stars in action.
Rock legends Status Quo did a special in-store signing at HMV Brighton and fans were queueing round the block early to meet their idols.

We also see the the Hove rugby team celebrate their victory over Hastings and Bexhill at the Sussex Mini Rugby Finals, hosted at Hove Recreation Ground, home of Hove RFC
Hove won the match in extra time thanks to a try scored by youngster Hugh Viney
