A FAMILY living in the South of France are hoping to swap homes with someone for a year.

And they have their eye on Brighton.

Johanna Pinney, 38, was born and raised in France but lived in Brighton for 11 years.

She has always dreamed of returning to the city with her husband Alexis and her two daughters, Molly, two, and eight-month old Nina.

Johanna said: “Brighton is such a wonderful place and it’s a wonderful place to be a mum.

“We keep coming back for holidays and I want to now come back for a year so that my girls can go to nursery in England to help with their English.

“I also really want them to experience Brighton, it’s a true Alice in Wonderland world, everyone can dress how they want and people just don’t judge you.”

Johanna used to work at Fairlight Primary School, near Lewes Road.

She loves that area of the city, and the colourful houses of Hanover, but said she is open to experiencing life elsewhere in the city.

She said: “I thought the house swap would be a practical way for us to relive Brighton and for someone to experience our home in Montpellier.”

Johanna and her family live in a two-bedroom apartment in La Place Comedie in the heart of the colourful French city.

There is a tram stop right outside that leads to all parts of the city.

Spain is only a two-hour drive and Italy four hours.

Mountain ranges including the Pyrenees are a couple of hours’ drive and other popular cities are accessible including Toulouse and Carcassonne.

EasyJet flies from Gatwick to Montpellier, making it an easy trip back home if needed.

Johanna said: “There are vineyards all around, pink flamingoes, wild horses, lots of history and picturesque villages.

“If you fancy experiencing this life from this summer til next June then give us a shout.

“This winter we had maybe only three days of rain.”

She is looking to swap from July until June next year.
