A FIGHT broke out in Poundland in the centre of Brighton.

Three youths were seen fighting with a customer before police rushed to the incident in North Street, according to reports.

One passer-by said: “A group of youths were creating havoc in Poundland.

“One of them was standing on the counter.

“I saw another guy, who I think was a customer, take one of them down.

“Someone took video footage of the fight and was showing it to police.”

A Poundland employee said there were three "kids" in the store who were getting aggressive to staff and customers.

A passer-by said: “I was waiting at the bus stop then it all kicked off.

“Four police cars came and stopped outside the shop.

“I heard there was a massive fight inside, with 20 people involved.”

Witnesses said three young boys were taken out of the store at about 11.45am.

One who saw the moment three youths were taken out the store, said: "I saw the police getting the kiddies out.

"I'm sick of this stuff, man. It seems like it's happening everyday around here."

Another witness said: "Something big must have happened - I've never seen such a big response."

Three teenagers have been arrested.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: "Officers attended Poundland in North Street, Brighton around 11.35am on Wednesday April 10 after reports of an altercation. 

"Three young men were reported to have assaulted a fourth man. 

"A 15 and 16-year-old, both from Brighton, and a 14-year-old, from Lancing, were all arrested on suspicion of affray. 

"All three remain in custody as of 12.45pm on Wednesday April 10."
