A YOUNG woman was found dead in her flat last week, an inquest heard.

Sheena Robinson, 35, was living in sheltered accommodation in St Aubyns, Hove.

She was in the care of support group Equinox, who provide support and accommodation to people with drug and alcohol dependence, mental health problems, homelessness and offending history.

On Monday, April 1, a member of staff went to Ms Robinson’s room to check on her and remind her to take her methadone dose. An opening inquest into her death held at Brighton and Hove coroner’s court in Woodvale, Brighton, heard she was found dead in her room, fully clothed.

Pathologist Dr David Wright examined her body but the provisional cause of death is still pending.

Assistant coroner for Brighton and Hove Catharine Palmer called for statements from Ms Robinson’s GP and from her family.

She also asked for her coroner’s officer, Jane Woodman, to check if Ms Robinson was in the care of Sussex Partnership Trust and and any other substance misuse support groups in the city.

The inquest has been adjourned until July 22.
