DISRUPTION is expected on Brighton Main Line due to the high number of football fans travelling by train today.
As thousands of Albion fans make their way to Wembley, Southern Rail has warned passengers to expect overcrowding with trains likely to be delayed or revised.
It said this disruption was predicted to last until 10.30pm.
The rail service advised people travelling between Brighton and London Bridge today to check their journey beforehand using the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner.
It also said that some passengers may be entitled to compensation as a result of their journey being delayed.
It said: “You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today.
“Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.”
A spokesman for the Brighton Mainline Improvement Project said: "We’ve been working closely with Brighton and Hove Albion FC. Southern Rail has increased its usual capacity and added four additional departures from Brighton for the football.
"Passengers can also travel via Farringdon with Thameslink instead of Victoria."
